Project 2010: 148 - life's a beach

i look wistfully at the picture and i remember vividly that day. it seems so far away now, and it has been just a week! it was bittersweet, my last day of vacation with the family. boo. :|

the scene caught my eye - a lady looking out at the horizon, a couple enjoying the sun, a friend taking their photo, a little girl making her castle. and there i was on the background, looking and an observer, an outsider zooming in their lives.

it reminds me how small the world is. and no matter what, at the end of the day, we are just neighbors on our walk in this life. on this earth.

more than a decade ago, we graduated grade school. we literally witnessed each other as we grew up, went through preadolescence and rebellious stages, had our crushes, went through puppy love, childish games, awkward changes and adjustments.

and look at us now, all grown up. and all those are were just stories and memories of the past that was.

*taken at our grade school reunion. i wish all 100+ of us made it in this gathering.

oooh...

i would have loved strolls by the beach with the sea breeze on my face and water touching my bare toes.

i would have loved the feel of sand as i step on it, or pick it up and teasingly throw a handful at my companion.

or just sit by the beach,lounging and enjoying each other's company.

but not today, at least not yet anyway. :D note to self: a sunlit date overlooking the beach, exactly as this photo suggests! :D

A walk in the sand on a summer's day.

The touch of the hot, powdery sand in your soles and the scorching rays in your face. The cool feel of water as you dip your feet. The splash of water as you wade into the water.

I'm loving every bit of summer. ;D
