Project 2011: 26 - watching over me
setting: at work.
just a little above my laptop and my monitor is this wall divider. my teammates placed these two to watch over me, literally (when i look up, i see these two).
the stuffed toy is so cuddly and cute, but the robot with the gun reminds me i'm at the office and i need to work. it's not exactly nice working at gunpoint. :P

Project 2010: 77 - bora bora
04.22.10
looking at these keepsakes, you may think i've been to boracay over and over again. but truth be told, it just happened once, one magical summer straight out of graduation :D
but i'd love to go there again.. definitely!
and oh, these keepsakes? are from my officemates' pasalubong right after they come back from the island paradise.

Project 2010: 53 - my old team
there used to be 6 of us, then there were 4. (see left pic). and now they're 6 + me! (see right pic)
it's a whole brand of goofiness with these guys. :>and though i may not share the same cube with them anymore, our friendship's here to stay.
it is one of those days that i miss my old cube and my old team. *sigh*

Proj 91 of 365 - life’s little surprises
imagine my surprise today when my department mates gathered by my cube and without a hint, greeted me a happy birthday (again) a few days too late.
with a cookies and cream muffin and a candle that cannot be lit for fear it may trigger the smoke detectors, they handed me over a nice birthday card.
thoughtful, simple, sweet.
how small the gesture was, it really made my day.
Proj 90 of 365 - starbucks
when my officemates asked me what i wanted for my birthday, one of the choices was a Starbucks tumbler.
imagine how indifferent and clueless i felt when i opened a gift box containing this.
maybe it was lack of imagination, or lack of a corny bone in my body, but i didn’t get the pun until a half hour later when the nancy drew in me was still scratching my head, wondering why i got a box-ful of stars with a pretty in-your-face obvious label.
then it hit me with a jolt. Starbox… starBUCKS… get it?

Proj 67 of 365 - the final bow
(06.26.09)
creativity comes in many forms and the possibilities are definitely endless – all it takes is a bit of ingenuity, originality, inspiration and you’ve got your masterpiece. there is nothing you can’t do even if all you have is some masking tape and carpet.
this sight surprised us all when we came into the office.
inspired by MJ’s untimely demise, three officemates have knowingly or unknowingly created a tribute of some sorts to the king of pop.
“the final bow”, i’d like to think.
Proj 65 of 365 - moving out
(06.19.09)
i come to work everyday, sitting on the same cubicle straight out of college.
it was at the center of everything, just as i liked it – right at the middle of office chitchat and just ‘round the corner for afternoon snacks.
and now, it's pretty amazing to think that everything that makes my cube what it is can be contained in just a few boxes – memorabilia, office supplies, trinkets, and those little things. all my accumulated stuff in what seems like so many years can just be dumped in just so few containers.
and yet, by the end of the day, there was no goodbye ceremonies nor there was any ritual. i was pretty much excited to be in my new cubicle in our new building and too tired and sore from the packing to feel sentimental.
and so, for the last time, just like any other day, i walked out of the cubicle I’ve been working for the past 4+ years.
Proj 64 of 365 - coffin boxes
(06.18.09)
as so often-times heard: “someone’s trash can still be someone else’s treasure”.
with this train of thought on my mind, i say:
“someone’s old printer boxes maybe someone else’s coffin.” :D
*marvin so gamely played dead (without anyone even asking him to) and i couldn’t resist taking a shot.

Proj 58 of 365: in between pins and gutters
it's true, bowling balls have minds of their own.
when we're looking, they may look still and motionless but try playing bowling and you'll see the naughty buggers that they are.
it seems there's this international syndicate of avenging bowling balls because this always happens to me wherever the bowling alley is.
first, i pick up an innocently light ball and the moment i put it in the alley, it just gets loose. sometimes, it'd go directly to the gutters even if i instructed it not to! the most frustrating part is that even how slowly i push the ball to ensure it'd hit even a pin, it still double-crosses me by running straight for several meters then swerving either to the left or right when the pins are inches away (allergies against pins, maybe?) sometimes, it grows angel wings and in order for me not to get too suspicious, tries not to give me a hard time by giving me freebies - a strike and spare every once in a while as a bribe for my silence.
are you nodding your heads in agreement? if it doesn't happen to you, hear this:

Proj 55 of 365: birthday wishes
today's a day filled with birthday parties and treats. a total of three in a day, would you believe!
this shot's the first of a series of three. minnie, my office and teammate, who've been given a kiddie party by the gang, complete with "mini-cakes", jelly-ace, and balloons. boy, i haven't been in a kiddie party for ages!
